1 All last weekend, I manned a booth with my cousin Troy at the Getting Married Bridal Fair. Super draining as we had to wake up at 6 AM and live on coffee for a while, but also super worth it!
2 Monday after the whirlwind weekend, Kiks took me out on a date. ♥
3 Coffee after dinner before the last full show of Les Miserable. Dinner-coffee-movie date, one of the best kinds of dates — no frills and easy going. :)
4 Speculoos party the following night at Kiks’s place! Attendees were myself, Kiks, his sister Iyay, and her boyfriend Edward. We made crepes! I now know how to make crepes! Crepes!
5 I won a Canon IXUS 125 HS from Canon! What! It’s sleek and sexy and black, just like my 60D. Camera looove.
6 And because I now have an IXUS, I gave Kiks my red Olympus V110 (that I also won, WHAT!) so that he’d have a little camera wherever he goes. :D
7 Spotted an iPad case with a giant Ateneo seal on it while browsing around SM Marikina. For the proud iPad-wielding Atenean! LOL
8 BOUGHT TICKETS FOR THE MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK CONCERT IN MARCH YES YES YES I AM ALL SORTS OF EXCITED SLDKHGS;HW;EHJSLJGSLGJ
9 Highlight of my Saturday, getting to play with my half-a-year-old nephew Tripp (he just turned 6-months old today!) SO MUCH CUTENESS! He woke up in my arms, and I can’t help but melt when those big baby eyes look up at meeeeeee and he smiles! GIGIIIIIL

I’ve always been so amused with the color accent feature of some cameras several years ago, and while it’s not really all that cool anymore, I’m pretty stoked to have a camera that finally has it. What is a decade too late? But I dun care, I’m going to color accent eeeeeverything now! (This may be a slight exaggeration.)

Have I mentioned just how amused I am with my phone’s new case?? Well I am. And greatly so!
It looks so much like a real vintage camera (except for the thickness, of course) that I’m hoping people with an inclination to steal things won’t pay it much mind because it’s a “film camera”, and they wouldn’t have any idea how to use it or think “film is too expensive!” and be on their way. (I don’t really know what I’m saying anymore.)

I could leave it around my room or something, and no one would be the wiser! Unfortunately, that may include me. With the amount of camera things I have here — from actual working cameras to boxes to toys to jewelry and even a lamp — it would blend right in and look like another camera thing added to my collection.

With the messiness of my room, though, I may actually have a hard time looking for it.

It’s a good thing it’s red, just like all my other little gadgets from before. Thanks to high school, I learned that red is the first color that we usually see (which is why it’s the first color on the rainbow, or so I remember). It’s not very obvious what my favorite color is, is it?

Have I mentioned that the “shutter button” on this is functional? As in you can press it when you take photos with your camera apps. Isn’t that neat? ISN’T IT??
I’ve been asked if it’s too bulky for a case, to which I answer…yes. It is. I can’t put it in my pocket, so I either put it in my bag or hold on to it. But the entire point of dressing up my phone like this is to show it, the “camera”, off. LOL. I know I’ll probably tire of the bulk eventually, but I’m just not going to think about it and just enjoy myself, haha.
Thanks to digitalism.ph for the superfantastic case!

Bought another box, I’m obviously obsessed. It was like a puzzle, fitting everything in! @tgosingtian, your UWA is well taken care of! It is now friends with my other stuff. 😂 #photography #cameras #lenses #equipment #Canon #box (Taken with Instagram)

Kiks came over this morning and surprised me with a little present! He bought me a camera strap that is much more relevant to our work. Foodie strap, hooha! Going to let my Canon strap rest for a while.

Coffee, company, conversations, & cameras

Another evening with a favorite combination for a great nightcap.

I always enjoy spending the evening at CBTL in Katipunan. It’s so laid back, the music is at a relaxing volume, you hardly notice the chatter, it isn’t crowded, and you could spend hours there and never notice how quickly time flies.

First time to try my favorite evening CBTL drink over ice, and it’s just as good as it is hot. African Sunrise, I love you!

Upon entering, my attention was caught immediately by the cello sitting in the middle of the store next to these two boys. It was interesting to see something you don’t come across often at a place you’re usually at.

I was in the company of Kiks & Teptep, just like old times. (: Endless conversations were had, and it was nice just sitting there and forgetting about everything else for a while.

A tiny fraction of our conversations was thinking of a brand or product we liked, if we were given the opportunity to become the face of said brand/product. One of the brands that popped into my head was Doc Martens, hahaha. I wouldn’t say no to being sponsored by Dr. Martens, fosho! It’s also a given that I had thought of Canon, but that remains to be a dream, LOL.

Speaking of cameras, I think I may have to get a new lens real soon. My old kit lens (from my 400D) has been failing me on several occasions, to the point that it’s not funny anymore. I’m thinking of getting a macro next since I shoot food professionally, but that would mean no more wide focal lengths for me! Not cool, either. But then again, I’m still paying off my 2-month-old camera body, so that new lens — whatever it may be — is still pretty far off. Anybody willing to donate lenses? A nice macro, or perhaps that new Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L II? HAHA YEAH RIGHT.

Anyhow, it’s been a lovely evening. You can never go wrong with the combination of coffee, cameras, and conversations with wonderful company.

I decided to give the Pentax camera gachapon another go, and I got another silver film camera! This is probably the closest I will get to having twins.

From 400 to 60

Okay! So it’s been a little over a month since I finally made the jump from a Canon EOS 400D to a Canon EOS 60D. I think I’m about due for a some feedback, which I hope some of you will find useful.
