Another day, another subway ride going downtown.

A visit to New York wouldn’t be complete without visiting ground zero and paying homage to the memory of all who lost their lives in the 9/11 tragedy eleven years ago.

They’re currently building the Freedom Tower, and the plan is that it should be complete by next year.

You can probably tell by now who my favorite subject was while in New York.

One of my favorite memorials. Dedicated to those who fell and to those who carry on.

Recognition for all the good men who lost their lives.

Given the dismal mood, it was a little uplifting to see these tiny origami cranes on the plaque.

To my surprise there were so many!

So many, that there were several on the ground as well. Had I had any spare paper on me, I would have folded one as well and perched it along with the others.

A poem of sorts about the events that took place on September 11, 2001.

After paying our respects, we made our way to Wall Street!

The New York Stock Exchange.

I spent majority of my time sitting on the steps over here, admiring the view.

My brother and I, just hanging out with George Washington who seems to be blessing us. Or about to pet us.

Further down the street was where the huge fight scene between the Gotham Police and Bane’s followers from The Dark Knight Rises was filmed! The steps I’m sitting on, however, was not where Batman and Bane had their fight scene — that was filmed all the way at Carnegie Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh!

I spotted a lady at the bottom of the steps sketching the buildings. Pretty cool!

One last look at George W. before walking on towards South Street Seaport where I’d part with my family and meet up with Misha!

“This is the weapon of the enemy. We do not need it. We will not use it.” - The Dark Knight Returns
A tribute to the victims of the 2012 Aurora shootings.

I try to avoid reblogging, but because I cannot find any other way to express how I feel about the theater shooting in Colorado, here is something from the biggest Batman fan I know. My heart goes out to all the families of those affected in this madness.

SO UHM, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. IT WAS AWESOME. EVERYONE SHOULD SERIOUSLY STOP WHAT THEY’RE DOING RIGHT NOW AND GO WATCH IT.

I MEAN REALLY. STOP IT. WHATEVER YOU’RE DOING, STOP IT. AND GO BUY A TICKET TO SEE THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. THE ONLY WAY FOR ME TO EXPLAIN HOW AWESOME IT WAS IS TO TELL YOU THAT I LITERALLY CRIED RIGHT AFTER THE MOVIE ENDED BECAUSE OF HOW AWESOME IT WAS.

IT BLEW ME AWAY MORE THAN THE AVENGERS.

I CAN’T STOP TYPING IN ALL CAPS.
